In other news, we will be finishing Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, in spite of the untimely departure of our friend Aachi. May he enjoy many more anime, now that he's not working on them.

Thanks for the episode. I had hopes that you guys would be doing the entire 3 series (yeah, i'm a fucking optimist like Kafuuka), but the Aaichi situation makes me be a negative. But, anyway, I really appreciate that you will finish SZS!

ReplyDeleteThey should move the project over to Doki, then they'll suddenly discover they have ample time to devote to it. No, honestly... I'm not even sniping here. They could chuck their many minions at it and finish it up sharpish.
BTN is, to all extents and purposes, dead in the water... Unless someone else starts giving a damn about it.
Eh, I don't really blame anyone, especially regarding this project. It was a bitch when I did it and I'm sure time has not made it any more pleasant to work on.

Yeah... As I mentioned in my leaving post, I used to work for 'That Other Group' too but didn't enjoy it over there.
ReplyDeleteI was serious when I said they should take it over and get it finished. As you've pointed out, the amount of work involved in an episode of SZS is disgusting... Since I was the only one with any sort of enthusiasm for getting through it, I suspect that's why work has slowed to a crawl now. It was a noble statement of intent, saying they'd finish the project up, but I reckon Aka's probably had a look at the script on more than one occasion and not been able to muster the motivation to get it done. Again, that's not me sniping, I myself had to be in just the right frame of mind to work on a SZS episode.
Neither Aka or Ixlone will deny they prioritise Doki, and that's fair enough (Well, Aka might deny it for the sake of arguing, haha <3) and they've already taken Denpateki over to be 'cleaned up' and released, so it should be feasible they do it with SZS. It's up to those guys though, I'm officially back to being a fan rather than a subber. I've not fired up Aegisub in a loooong time and besides, I don't have access to raws/scripts anymore so we'll just have to hope the guys follow through on their promise to get it done.
umm... excuse me. is any one alive out here? its beens weeks since we last heard from you guys (no problem if releases take a while). but atleast do stay in touch with your fans

ReplyDeleteIt's 3 am here, browsing old anime stuff, noticing BTN name on one of my shiki anime file, googling it and here I am, don't know for sure what dafuq am I doing and I don't even know why dafug am I can landing here right now happily without even know this group before....
